The Cooperative Difference
The Grundy County REC is unlike other electric utilities. We are a cooperative, meaning we are owned by the members we serve- not stockholders. Because we are a not-for-profit business, any money that the REC receives that is not needed for operation is allocated back into the membership. This is just one advantage of a cooperative membership.
Everyone who is a member of the Grundy County REC is an owner, and has a voice in the operation of the cooperative. Each year at our annual meeting, you have the opportunity to vote for those who serve on our Board of Directors. Your Directors are members just like you, so you know the decisions they make are in the best interest of all of our members-owners.
We are here to serve you. If you have any questions about membership, or anything offered to you, please don't hesitate to contact us!
